Field Day 2008

Contesting

Field Day 2008 is coming. Are we ready? Yes that’s what I said are we ready? The two days each year we have to show the world our emergency communications capabilities is drawing near. June 28th and 29th to be exact. Once again this year we will be at the Louisiana Oaks Park , On Louisiana Ave 1 block north of hwy 7 in St Louis Park.
Once again our goal is to demonstrate our emergency communications skills , and even have FUN at it. While a lot of people view Field Day as strictly a contest , I believe it is truly an operating event which just happens to have a contest element to it. So even if you hate contesting this is the perfect Amateur radio event for you. You can help assemble antennas , setup the stations ,watch the ops working the bands (of course you can be one of the ops or loggers) Visit with the other Hams there , and help spread the world of Amateur Radio to the public. To join in just contact Bert or 612-242-4135 . Or Paul We will be having a pre field day meeting sometime in May. Listen to the Swap shop, and watch the TCFMC.org website for details when they become available. To all newer Hams : We have a Great team and it is really special watching the stations get setup and taken down . Our crew is 2nd to none so come on out and check it out for yourself. Ok so are we ready? Well not quite yet ,but we are well on the way and with everyones help once again this year we will show up for the bell!

Also remember we are a Multi-one in this contest. Then station 1 resumes calling cq. Also this is a 100w contest so no amplifiers.
