Where does all the time go? There are only two contests for W0EF left until Fieldday 2007 , those being the ARRL DX SSB and the CQ WPX SSB contest. Its not too late to join in with our Award winning team! Contact me at or call me at 612-819-0832.
Contest date’s are March 3rd and 4th and March 24th and 25th , the contests run from Friday PM to Sunday PM so lots of ops needed!
And speaking of Field Day 2007 we will once again be operating from the Louisiana Oaks Park in St Louis Park. Once again we will be led by Paul WG0G and , me WB0N.
Its not too early to sign up to operate , or just help out ! Look for an announcement on the TCFMC web Site as to a Planning meeting coming up in April.
Ok now for a couple contesting comments: This year as some of you know I started operating in the CW contests , and man is it FUN! You don’t have to be a Great CW op to join in , all it takes is the right software to get you started. It doesn’t take as much of an antenna on CW to have some FUN. I would like to get W0EF setup so I can show you next year. Anyone interested? When I think of all the years I wasted not doing the CW contests man what a bummer. I missed out on lots of FUN.
And although I know we are not primarily a contesting club , we do have these great radios and Antenna’s and I wish more of you would join in and help us utilize them. If you haven’t tried contesting you just may be missing out on a very fun aspect of Amateur Radio! Try it you may like it!
